If you’ll humor my comparison, making art is a lot like trying to strike a match against the grain of your heart. It’s not a pleasant feeling or even a practical way to light a match, but in the rare instance it sparks, there is no warmer feeling to hold in your hands. And you have to be careful, too, because as the flame grows, so too does your potential to get burned by it. You’ll be tempted to extinguish it and from the ashes have to start over and over again. That is how easy artists get trapped inside loops. But if you endure the fire without fear; hold it in front of your eyes without looking away, you’ll discover you can see more clearly than you ever dreamed possible. And that is why humans make art and computers don’t.
